Jordan Ruiz of Oakley, CA spent many summers at Kennolyn’s Day Camp, and this was her first time at Kennolyn’s Resident Camp, thanks to the Foundation! She enjoyed making guacamole and smoothies in Indoor Cooking, conducting experiments in Fun Science and playing with the farm animals in Animal Care. Kailee Correll of Palo Alto, CA joined Kennolyn for her third summer and was delighted to be able to be part of the Adventure program thanks to the Caldwell Foundation. This special group, which also included her friend from home, took part in some amazing adventures including a river rafting trip, surfing, kayaking, and a Segway tour of Santa Cruz.

Jair Garcia of Scotts Valley, CA had a great time at camp, spending most of his 2 weeks with his cabin, Lassen. He was a part of a self-defense class that spent the session learning nunchuck skills and other defense techniques. He also participated in Archery and even made Stained Glass with his sister. Fatima Garcia of Scotts Valley, CA attended Kennolyn for a 2 week session, sharing a cabin with one of her closest friends from home. She enjoyed activities like Stained Glass, Climbing and Ropes.

We Run for Chelsea Campership Aunt Marion and Uncle Max Resident Campership
Reilly Allison of Boulder, CO had an awesome 2 weeks as a first-time camper. She enjoyed cabin Juniper and participated in activities like Wheel Pottery, Ropes and Outdoor Cooking. Kennolyn was particularly special for her as she was able to join her best friend from home at camp this summer. David Banker of Los Altos, CA enjoyed his third summer at Kennolyn. With his cabinmates and counselor, Spencer, the cabin especially enjoyed outpost. On Closing Day, his mom said she hadn’t seen such a genuine, big smile on his face in a long time! The amazing male role models he got at camp were invaluable to him.

Maple Barker of Santa Cruz, CA had an awesome 2 weeks at Kennolyn. This summer was her second at camp and she enjoyed reuniting with old friends and meeting new ones. She spent most of her day at the barn but also spent some time climbing the trees on the Ropes Course. Amy Gray of Santa Cruz, CA enjoyed her second summer attending a 2-week session. She was a shining star in the cabin skit, showing off her goofy side. She participated in activities like Ropes, Animal Care and Horseback Riding.

Keely Fry of Novato, CA enjoyed her second summer at Kennolyn, this time as a Senior Camper. You could see her smiling throughout all the special activities like Senior Camper Beach Day and their BBQ. She participated in activities such as Stained Glass, Fun Science and Senior Wheel Pottery. Lily Lena of Palo Alto, CA had a great time during her first summer at Kennolyn. As a 9th grader she got to visit Raging Waters during the first week of camp with the rest of her cabin. She enjoyed Riding, Ropes and Fashion Design.

Fatima Garcia of Scotts Valley, CA went from being a bit shy to wanting to lead games for her cabin! Her confidence grew immensely at camp, and she challenged herself in many areas. On the last day of her 2 weeks, she offered to be the' red pirate' team swimmer and race a length of the pool in front of the whole camp! Nathan Gilbert of Oakland, CA got excited by trying new things, so going on Outpost was a thrill, especially when they found frogs, salamanders and a deer bone. Around camp, he chose to go to the pool whenever he had a chance, and in general just had an extremely positive attitude during his 1-week session.

Alex Gray of Santa Cruz, CA was a 2-week senior camper who made lots of friends in his and the other cabins. He enjoyed Raging Waters, Sr Camper beach day and especially loved swinging high in the trees with his four hours of Ropes Course activities that he took! Amy Gray of Santa Cruz, CA fell in love with the animals at Kennolyn - mostly the 2 lambs, but she also showed her talent in lizard spotting! She impressed her counselors by always offering to help around the pens. Even though she was hesitant to sleep out in the woods, she conquered that fear and ended up loving it during her 2-week session.

Claire Kim of Palo Alto, CA became very close with the horse Hollister who she got to ride for 2 weeks at Equestrian Camp. She always had a positive attitude around the barn as well as in her cabin group, being a great listener and showing maturity beyond her years. Kavi Love of Santa Cruz, CA had a smile that would brighten people's day, and he would stimulate many discussions with his intelligence and humor. During his 3-year campership, he made many friendships that will last him through is life, and he in return had a positive impact on many people.

David Banker of Los Altos, CA loved riding the BMX track again for his second summer (of three). He sharpened his biking skills as well as his archery shot - one of the fastest arrow shooters in the class. He enjoyed every minute of camp and was a positive addition to his cabin, and he looks forward to one more summer! Maple Barker of Santa Cruz, CA had a contagious laugh, brightening up campers and counselors around her with her sweet disposition. She matured greatly throughout her 2-week session and said this camp experience has helped give her confidence to go to her new school this fall. Fortunately, this was her first of three years of her campership!

Keely Fry of Novato, CA thought she might be homesick, but she had so much fun, she said she never was! Her counselor for her 2-week session said she was incredibly genuine and inclusive. Her mom came to Kennolyn years ago, so Keely followed in her footsteps in taking some of the exact same activities, enjoying all of her choices. Kailee Correll of Palo Alto, CA was described as a vital member of her cabin - positive from the outset, a camper who continued to gain enthusiasm and confidence. Her favorite activity was Sr. Guitar where she really excelled musically throughout her 2-week session.

During his 2-week session at Kennolyn, Dylan pretended to be a mad scientist during fun science, climbed the ropes course and hit some home runs at the batting cages. When Dory wasn't throwing some pottery on the wheel, he was trying to make some drop goals on the Rugby pitch. Kennolyn opened up a few spots for Caldwell Foundation campers in their Day Camp Pre-Camp session. The Foundation was then able to accept 100% of the campers that applied from the Santa Cruz Area. Not all were able to attend but Sage Moore, Nathon Myers, Ryan Myers, Lumoni Ngo and Kieran Wright had a wonderful time.

The Maya George Memorial Campership was created in 2007 to honor a Kennolyn Camper who lost her battle with a brain tumor at much too young of an age. Maya loved her time at Kennolyn and it seemed only appropriate that children attend Kennolyn this summer in her absence.
